What Is Covid-19? Also known as Coronavirus

The World Health Organization first announced about Covid-19 in early February 2020, as the disease that was and still is causing the coronavirus outbreak They noted the virus was first identified in Wuhan China. 

The virus developed into a pandemic that was affecting the entire USA. Many people have died from this pandemic and we must still take precaution since the virus is still spreading and there is now a variant.

The pandemic has been rapid now for one (1) year this March 2021.

What Are The Symptoms of Covid-19?

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness.

 

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

 

People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

 

This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as they learn more about COVID-19.

Note:

  • Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms.

  • Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

How is Covid-19 Spread and What Precautions To Take? 

The CDC states being around someone who has it, and always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick, even inside your home.

  • If possible, maintain 6 feet between the person who is sick and other household members.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Wear a cloth face cover when having to go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to pick up other necessities.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces daily.​

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Wear reusable or disposable gloves for routine cleaning and disinfection.

  • Clean surfaces using soap and water, then use disinfectant.

  • Clean or launder items according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.

  • If someone is sick, keep a separate bedroom and bathroom for the person who is sick (if possible).

What Precautions and Measures Have We Taken to Ensure Safety?

We, the Martin-Webb Baptist Learning Center, LLC; Home of The N. J. Brockman School of Theology took this pandemic seriously. We care for the well-being of our students and staff.

We closed down completely the same as everyone else when issued. We are on the same schedule as the Greenville SC School System.

 

It has been a year now, and as some places have begun to re-open,

 

We Took Precautions:

 

  1. We inquired of the returning students of the comfortability of being in-person or option of being online. 

  2. The entire building (inside) was professionally sanitized. as well as outside railings, knobs, etc.

  3. All desks were set-up to be 6 feet apart with labeling to keep certain areas clear. 

  4. We provide hand sanitizer for the students, staff, administration and anyone who enters the building.

  5. Masks are 'Mandated". Everyone must have on a mask when entering, while inside and leaving the building.

  6. *Masks can be taken off when seated in class, if comfortable doing so.

  7. Everything; desks, chairs, bathroom, etc, is sanitized on a daily basis.

 

We take you and your family lives seriously. We have done and will continue to take all safety precautions for the well-being of everyone. 

We encourage everyone, to take precautions at all times, whether here in the building or not.
